Prof K. C. Soni (Born on 26th January at Calcutta) has about 25 years of teaching experience of undergraduate and postgraduate classes. He did M. Sc. (Zoology) with specialization in Entomology from Lohia college, Churu (Raj ) and M.Phil( Zoology) with specialization in Developmental biology from Dungar collge, Bikaner and Ph.D. in wildlife from MDS University, Ajmer. He has published 24 research papers in various journals of national and international repute. He has also contributed many articles of varied interest in Competition Science Vision (CSV), Science Reporter and daily News papers.
Prof Soni has authored and edited about twenty four books pertaining to zoology catering to the needs of UG to PG and research students which are being used in India. He has successfully completed three minor research projects on wild life awarded by University Grants Commission. In addition to teaching, Soni contributes regularly to the professional literature, develops innovative institutional methodologies, and is committed for the conservation of Science which is so important to the needs of the society today. Soni is also an avid photographer and many of his photographs of avian fauna appear regularly in News papers.
Soni is an active member of AZARI ( Arid Zone Avian Research Institute) and other organizations like ISHEER( Indian Society of Health Environment Education and Research), New Ornis Foundation, Hyderabad, Birds Conservation Society of Gujarat, Oriental Birding Club, Bombay natural history society, Asian raptor research conservation network, Japan, Flora and fauna, Jhansi, and current bioscience association, Bhavnagar. Soni has delivered an oral presentation on Egyptian Vulture (Neophron percnopterus) in 4th Raptor symposium held at Taiping (Malaysia) in the month of October,2005 and key note lecture on International ibis day, Belgium in October 2009. Prof Soni is being invited by University of Gavle (Sweden) for post doctorate fellowship from 2011. Presently six scholars are pursuing their Ph.D. under supervision of Prof. Soni.
